Barclay DMUs

On 27 January 2014 the BWLR took delivery of 3 Andrew Barclay diesels, the last narrow gauge engines to have worked for the Ministry of Defence. They are all 2 foot gauge 0-4-0 Diesel Mechanical Units fitted with 111 b.h.p. Perkins 6 cylinder engines with an unladen weight of 7600 Kgs. They are primarily shunting engines and were built to move munitions. They first worked at MoD Andover then moved on to Eastriggs Munition Depot in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, finally moving across the border to Longtown, Cumbria. They were decommissioned on 29 July 2013.
They are in fairly good condition and will get a full and comprehensive service in the BWLR workshops.
They all come with Works plates and MoD numbers.
Works No. 719 built 1987 MoD No. NG50.
Works No. 764 built 1988 MoD No. NG53.
Works No. 765 built 1988 MoD No. NG54.
