We had our first steam event day of the year on the first Sunday in May and what a glorious day it was! We were blessed with fabulous sunshine, beautiful bluebells and the visitors came out in droves – by far our busiest event day in many years which was such a welcome boost for the railway. Steam locomotive Victory, and the John Fowler engines Zambezi and the V11 were in service together – for the last time before V11 departed for Statfold Barn Railway having arrived in October 2023 for our Steam Gala and spending the winter months with us. The day was topped off with the busiest ‘Best Dressed Teddy’ competition we’d ever seen with 70 Bears in a wonderful variety of outfits and hoping for a prize – Well Done to the Winner, Moana Bear!
