Samuel Jones has been visiting the railway with his family since he was just 3 years old. He started volunteering early, doing very mundane cleaning and other jobs. He became our youngest every person to get passed out to drive a diesel locomotive and many other tasks. He is a regular driver on our diesel days throughout the school holidays. He has been shortlisted for the longstanding Heritage Railway Association, Lord Faulkner Young Volunteer of the Year. It will be as hard fought as ever with three others also making the shortlist.
