January 2026 sees the return of the Bredgar New Year’s Steam Up on Saturday 24th January. Tickets for this event are very limited .
The Engine Shed was open for viewing and Bill Best a gave a tour and talk of the Engine Shed looking in detail at individual engines and some of the history. Updates and repairs and restoration of Garforth station footbridge (C.1900) and the Brouhot portable, just retubed over the winter.
The Steam locomotives Helga and Katie were be on the line, providing passenger rides, assisted by diesel Milstead . The large model railway was running and the train play table out for the children! Bob Vine brought his ball bearing games – always a hit.
This was attended by over 250 people.
