We’re incredibly proud to announce that Samuel Jones, of one of our young volunteers, has had a very exciting start to 2026 representing Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway.
On 5th March he travelled to Westminster where he was awarded the Heritage Alliance Young Heritage Hero Award, even giving a speech to a room full of leading figures from across the heritage sector.
Then, just a few days later, we joined him in Llandudno for the Heritage Railway Association Awards where he was Highly Commended in the Lord Faulkner Young Volunteer of the Year category.
Samuel gives so much of his time and energy to the railway and it’s wonderful to see his dedication recognised nationally. We’re very lucky to have him as part of our substantial volunteer family.
