Well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome.
Yes. You are able to park close to the station which is tarmacked. There is disabled access onto the platform and assistance is available to board the passenger carriage. There is a disabled toilet on site.
Yes prams for small babies are able to board the train, however as space is limited, we ask push chairs for older children are parked at the station prior to the ride.
The museum is not currently open to the public during the week, only on Event Days (the first Sunday of every month, Easter–October).
The ride takes approximately 15 minutes.
It leaves the home station and travels into the woods, stopping at end station. It then returns back, past the home station and the engine sheds out into the fields and back again. It is not quite a circular line however you start and end at the same place.
Diesel trains run every Wednesday from 11am to 2pm. No need to book this, just arrive and purchase your ticket from the Tea Room.
Steam and diesel trains run on Events Days, when the museum is also open and there are many attractions out on display.
Event days are the first Sunday of every month Easter to October.
For the best price, book your ticket in advance on the website. Tickets are also available on the gate on the day.
We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The Tea Room is open all year round 9am–3pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
The Tea Room services the Event Day guests on the first Sunday of every month and therefore a day ticket is required to visit on these days.
We are closed (including the Tea Room) on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
You don’t need to book a table at the Tea Room – its first come, first serve.
You don’t need to book the diesel train rides on a Wednesday. You can just arrive and purchase your ticket from the Tea Room.
If you buy your ticket for an Event Day on the website in advance of the day, you will receive a discount price. Tickets are available on the gate on the day at the standard entry price. Please see the Tickets page for details.
If you purchase your ticket online in advance, the tickets are discounted. They are available to purchase online up to a week before. Following that, you may purchase your ticket on the gate for the standard admission price.
Special Events such as the Father Christmas Experience are pre-booked tickets only. Please check the website for upcoming Special Events.
Absolutely. A family ticket includes two adults and up to three children.
Car park opens at 10:00 am, first train 11:00 am, last train 4:30 pm, car park closes 5:30 pm.
Car parking is free.
At the present moment we’re unable to offer concessions.
Season tickets are currently under review and likely to be available later in the year for 2023.
