Give the gift of a very special experience this Christmas. This one day steam train driving course is a friendly and informal opportunity to get behind the regulator of a beautifully restored steam locomotive and make a dream come true.
The day starts at 10am with an induction explaining the safety and the basic introduction to the workings of a steam locomotive. You will then join the instructors for hands on experience all morning before stopping for lunch which is included. In the afternoon the carriages are coupled up to give the experience of pulling carriages on the line.
Morning and afternoon tea or coffee and a light lunch are provided for driving participants. Family or friends are welcome to come and watch plus ride the train in the afternoon with an opportunity for photographs of the participants in action on the footplate.
The cost of £400 (including VAT) and a small fee for additional visitors wishing to ride the train.
A voucher will be sent to you in the post.
The date of the course will be arranged with the particpant.
