This June we are having a Steam Up Party to celebrate 50 years of Bredgar Railway. Our first engine, Bronhilde was brought to Bredgar in 1975 and we’ve been expanding and running monthly steam days ever since.
Join us from 10am, we’re running steam engine passenger rides, the engine shed is open exhibiting all our locos, vehicles and engines as well as the large model railway. In the main field we have a good selection of visiting exhibits, including steam rollers, traction engines, stationary engines and more, to commemorate the day, featuring a ceremony to mark the occasion. This is also a celebration of 200 years of commercial Rail travel
The band Loose Change are with us for the afternoon and into the evening with their fantastic live music, there’s a bar, a hog roast and dancing!
Come dressed in 70s attire if you wish!
For the children there’ll be garden games, tractor and trailer rides, a colouring station, train play table, teddy bear treasure hunt and a Best Dressed Teddy Competition! Extra points if your teddy is dressed in 70s clothes!
